I'd like to present you a new technique: the Sabian Symbols of the antiscion degrees, figured out by me, first for use in Horary Astrology, then extended to natal or other branches as well.

What is the vertex? The vertex is a theoretical point in the heavens where the ecliptic-the apparent orbit of the Sun around the earth-crosses the prime vertical-the plane that runs at right angles to the meridian and divides the celestial sphere from front to back. Already, it sounds fishy. A theoretical point?

Aspects between one person's planets and the other person's planets describe the interface of the individuals in the shared space of relationship.

There is an aspect pattern formed from two planets each sesquisquare (sesquiquadrate) a third planet, with the base two planets square to each other. I use 8-degree orb on square and 4 degree orbs on sesquisquare. I have heard various names for this figure, ranging from Quadriform to God's Fist

The Vertex has a reputation for being a “woo-woo” fated relationship point. That idea never rang true to me. In this article, it would seem to have more to do with calling and career. I hear that message on my answering machine at least once a month. People with the slightest openness to astrology seem to know that certain moments in time are more auspicious than others.

The Moon is the fastest moving planet (luminary), and it is used extensively for timing in predictive astrology (in progressions, for example), horary astrology (charting the moment a question is posed), and in electional astrology (choosing the best time to do something, such as start a business).

Interest in the Vertex by astrologers was widespread in the 1970s, and various interpretations were ascribed to it; unfortunately most of them were rather abstract and not easy to connect with consensus reality and therefore not readily verifiable.

It shows the position of the Sun, the Moon, and planets at the precise moment of your birth. The planets are frozen in their position at that initial moment of birth. That is why this type of horoscope is known as the birth chart or the natal chart.

Electing by the aspects of the Moon is the poor man's version of electional astrology.
